Acecide-C is a peracetic acid-based high-level disinfectant and sterilant designed exclusively for use in the Olympus endoscope reprocessor, the OER-Pro. Acecide-C provides high-level disinfection in just 7 minutes, making it the fastest-acting room temperature peracetic acid solution on the market, says Olympus. With a 20 ?C (68 ?F) use temperature, Acecide-C protects equipment using non-heated chemistry while saving on energy costs and reducing the overall OER-Pro cycle time to just 26 minutes, says the company. Easy-to-handle cassette bottles deliver quicker and easier loading while minimizing staff exposure to the disinfectant. Test strips can check the solution's efficacy in just 13 seconds. Braun's Introcan Safety 3 Closed IV Catheter, which gained 510(k) clearance from the FDA in October, builds on the company's line of safety catheters with 3 protective features that can't be bypassed. A passive safety needle shield prevents needlesticks, a multiple access blood control valve minimizes blood exposure from the hub throughout IV therapy, and an integrated stabilization platform steadies the catheter to reduce movement and improve in-dwell performance.
