Handy Tool Makes Credentialing Easier

Most regulatory bodies require your facility to monitor peer review. In order to track information to present to the board of directors during credentialing time, we developed a Peer Review Action Record. We update this form as needed, using it as a "physician's report card." This form tracks hospital admissions, returns to OR, patient injuries, retained foreign bodies, post-op infection rates, medical record completions and conduct. We assign each physician a "code number," so practice information and name disclosure aren't issues when we refer to physicians. This is very helpful during reappointment time, especially when you have many physicians to re-credential. Surveyors will love to see this type of tracking tool during your accreditation visit.
