FACILITY DESIGN
You're About to Cross the Red Line
When we relocated our surgery center to a new building, we included a neat design element into our seamless floor (Floorazzo), a "red line" (the floor color changes from grand canyon to habanero) that notifies staff and patients that they are entering the restricted area of the operating room suites and that they shouldn't cross without the proper attire. In our old facility, we placed unsightly red duct tape on the floor at the entrance to the ORs. Our new design is both fashionable and functional.
