Signs of the Times Improve Hand Hygiene

If you see the exact same thing every day, pretty soon you start to look right past it. That's unacceptable when it comes to infection prevention. We needed to make sure our staff didn't look past our reminders to wash their hands, so we started regularly changing the laminated signs we put above our soap and foam dispensers. To catch everyone's eyes, we use holiday or seasonal themes, or something else designed to get noticed. It's simple, but it works. Our hand-hygiene compliance improved once we started changing the signs.
