Ideas That Work: Help Loved Ones Kick Back and Relax

Patients who receive care at the Advanced Spine Center of Wisconsin in Neenah undergo long procedures, leaving patient escorts to sit for hours while they wait. “After a handful of patient satisfaction surveys noted that the chairs in our waiting room weren’t comfortable, we realized a change needed to be made,” says Angela Laux, RN, nurse administrator at the facility. “One of our surgeons suggested we buy a massage chair, which has been a popular addition. It was a little tricky finding room for the chair to recline without getting in the way of foot traffic, but the positive response has been worth it.” The facility plans on purchasing another chair when the COVID-19 numbers in the local community decrease enough to allow more people in the waiting room.
