America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers 2023

When Newsweek released their 2023 rankings for the best surgery centers in America, it drew major attention to what is happening in the surgery marketplace across the country. 

The rankings are based on recommendations by medical professionals and an analysis of the facilities’ performance data. With more than 5,000 Medicare-certified ambulatory surgery centers around the country in all the major surgical specialties, Newsweek ranked the top 10 percent by releasing a list of 510 in a variety of specialties. 

The score was determined by a reputation score based on recommendations, quality scores and a COVID-19 score (67%) and a KPI score, which is based on ASCQR data (33%). Newsweek partnered for the third year with the global research firm Statista to name America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
