Nutrients Never Tasted So Good
Nutritional drink manufacturer Boost and sweet treat maker Cinnabon have collaborated to introduce a cinnamon roll flavored supplement. The bakery-inspired drink — which is made of the same high-quality protein, vitamins and minerals found in other Boost products — helps patients meet their daily nutritional needs and increases their energy, immune support, and bone and muscle health. The supplement comes in six packs of 8 fl. oz. ready-to-drink bottles.

Patient-specific Spine Implants
DeGen Medical has launched Impulse AM, a 3D-printed porous titanium spinal implant for posterior interbody fusions. 3D printing technology allows for patient-specific implants to be made with minimal lead time and at a reasonable delivery cost. DeGen Medical says the entire manufacturing process for the implant is “green,” as no cutting oils, fluids or heat treatments are used. Impulse AM is available in a variety of sizes and anatomical designs to accommodate a wide range of patient anatomy during posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) procedures.

New Payment Code for Shoulder Spacer
Stryker’s InSpace implant is a first-of-its-kind biodegradable subacromial balloon spacer for the arthroscopic treatment of massive rotator cuff tears (MRCTs), which about 10 million Medicare beneficiaries suffer as they age. Surgeons place the InSpace implant to restore the subacromial space and improve the shoulder’s motion and function in a less invasive way than with fixation devices or grafts. The device is accessible to more patients because HOPDs and ASCs can now bill CMS for its use (HCPCS code C9781).
