Perioperative nurses are making plans to meet up in Orlando next summer.

BETTER DAYS AHEAD BETTER DAYS AHEAD AORN and its members will once again pack the halls at AORN Expo.

The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) has moved next year's Global Surgical Conference and Expo from April to August. The event will now be held August 7 to 11 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

AORN says the decision to move Expo later in the year was "due to the uncertainty of COVID-19's potential for additional waves and vaccine availability." AORN Members who made hotel reservations for April 2021 in AORN's reserved block of rooms will have their bookings automatically transferred to the new August dates.

Members who would like to be notified when registration opens for Expo 2021 can sign up here.

"We hope you, like those of us at headquarters and on the board, are looking forward to attending Expo 2021," AORN wrote its members. "It seems too long since we have been able see each other, learn together and celebrate our profession."

AORN had previously canceled its 2020 Expo, which was to be held in Anaheim in late March and early April, due to the coronavirus outbreak. It quickly shifted to provide a virtual experience of the 2020 show, access to which remains free for AORN members.
