33 Years it will take convicted embezzler Erica Shaffer to repay the $100,000 she is accused of stealing from SurgCenter Hudson in Ohio, where she worked from 2009 to 2013 as an office manager. Ms. Shaffer was sentenced last week to make monthly payments of at least $250 until the $100,000 is paid off. She was also sentenced to 3 years in prison, but the judge suspended the prison time provided that Ms. Shaffer submits to regular drug tests, attends all probation appointments and makes regular restitution payments.

42 The percentage of OR managers whose facilities pay for all expenses incurred on educational conferences, according to an Outpatient Surgery Magazine poll of 221 readers. Nearly one-fourth (23%) have to foot the whole bill themselves, while about one-third (35%) say their facilities pay for some of their expenses.
