We all have lofty goals and high expectations for success in the workplace. But it’s important for a leader to be realistic about the actual workloads and day-to-day tasks that make up a busy schedule — and proactively guide staff members to accomplish their individual goals as well as offer solutions for roadblocks. “Working smart” is the mantra for many of today’s challenges and it is up to the leader of a team to outline what the larger goals are as well as the daily ones. Practice patience with the process and the people involved and you’ll see results.
A great leader is both realistic and patient in interpersonal relationships.
