What we saw at AORN Expo in Boston
In early April, the Outpatient Surgery Magazine editorial team headed north to attend AORN’s 72nd annual Global Surgical Conference & Expo. Over a whirlwind four days, we attended insightful education sessions, heard powerful keynote addresses, met dozens of readers at events we hosted and networked with attendees at the busy ASC Hub.
Here is a small sample of what we saw. We hope this glimpse into perioperative nursing’s largest and most premier event inspires you to head to New Orleans for Expo 2026. OSM
KICKOFF The Conference and Expo started Saturday, April 5, as thousands arrived and checked in to register for the event.
BIG CROWD Thousands of perioperative nurses descended on Boston for the four-day conference.
BIG WINNERS AORN’s Outpatient Surgery Magazine honored the 2024 OR Excellence Awards winners with an event presented by members of the editorial and education teams.
KEYNOTE Author and CEO Shola Richards set the tone for the conference with his powerful remarks.
SMOKE-FREE At the Expo hall, attendees experimented with smoke evacuation devices that keep ORs free from toxic surgical plume.
ON THE WALL More than 300 posters, and the opportunity to engage with their authors in person, were highlights for attendees.
FACE TIME The event’s Reverse Trade Show allowed attendees, device manufacturers and industry leaders to “speed network.”
