Cheri Ackert-Burr

With more than 40 years in perioperative nursing, Cheri Ackert-Burr, DNP, RN, CNOR, CNS, BAEd AGTS, is a seasoned professional who has served as both a director of surgery and clinical nurse specialist of the Operating Room. She’s a member of AORN and SGNA and holds certifications dating back to 1979. Cheri is an active contributor to the field, participating in curriculum development for endoscope technician certification and contributing to AAMI working groups. Her expertise extends to authoring articles on sterilization and bariatric surgery education, with a commitment to presenting on infection prevention and patient safety internationally.
