David Shapiro, MD, CASC, CPHRM, LHR

David Shapiro is an anesthesiologist with extensive experience serving as a department chair, medical director, and board member of several ambulatory surgery centers. Dr. Shapiro currently serves on the boards of both the Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers and the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (where he was a past president). His other board positions include:

• The Ambulatory Surgery Center Quality Collaboration, which develops, measures, and publicly reports national ASC quality data.
• Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), an organization where he conducts healthcare facility surveys on behalf of AAAHC and Medicare.
• The Facility Guidelines Institute
• Outpatient Surgery Magazine (editorial board)
