In 2010, Warye was named one of the “100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare Magazine for her influence in driving awareness of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and leadership in mobilizing a diverse community of stakeholders toward their reduction.

In 2011, she was recruited to Becton Dickinson (BD) to advance the company’s clinical and commercial leadership in infection prevention. As Worldwide vice president of infection prevention, she led growth strategy with emphasis on portfolio and market development. She and her team paved the way for BD’s entry into the skin antisepsis market and set the stage for the company’s acquisition of CareFusion, a leader in infection prevention solutions. Prior to joining BD, Warye served as the CEO for the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), where she focused national attention to the problem of HAIs.

She is widely recognized for transforming APIC from an under-the-radar professional society into a vibrant and globally recognized leader in patient safety, healthcare policy, clinical practice, and research. Today, APIC is the largest infection prevention organization in the world with over 120 chapters in North America, Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East.
