Lorie Hassel-Chuang

Lorie Hassel-Chuang BSN, RN has been with The University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS) for seven and a half years and has been in her current Unit Educator position for approximately five and a half years. TUKHS is a level one trauma center serving the Kansas City Metropolitan area. Prior to joining TUKHS and the nursing profession, Lorie worked in the dental field. Lorie loves that her position as Unit Educator allows her to help guide, grow and orient new RNs and Surgical Technologists entering the perioperative environment. Lorie enjoys bringing educational offerings to the staff, problem solving issues that arise within the unit, guiding policy changes and working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. She is driven by her passion for educating others along with her devotion to lifelong learning.
