Sara Angelilli, DNP, MS, RN, CNOR, NPD-BC

Director of perioperative education at Allegheny Health Network

Sara Angelilli is the director of perioperative education at Allegheny Health Network. She has 15 years of experience in surgical services that includes seven years as a nursing professional development practitioner. Sara was the 2022 recipient of the Nightingale of Pennsylvania award for Nursing Education - Staff Development. She has presented to regional, national, and international audiences about evidence-based practice projects and innovations in clinical education. Sara also completed a federally funded research study as a co-investigator to explore preferred uses and best practices of elastomeric respirators in the healthcare setting; co-authoring manuscripts to advance knowledge for elastomeric respirator use in healthcare. She received her master’s degree in nursing leadership and education from Carlow University and DNP through Capella University. Through her commitment to life-long learning, she also completed a second master's degree in industrial-organizational psychology. Sara is dual certified in perioperative nursing and nursing professional development and currently serves as the Pittsburgh AORN chapter president and the Pittsburgh ANPD chapter president.
