AORN Government Affairs Policy Agenda Updated

Ever wonder how AORN’s government affairs decides which bills to advocate for and ones to raise the alarm over? Each year the AORN board of directors establishes a policy agenda based on recommendations from the National Legislative Forum. The Government Affairs team pursues these goals in legislative and regulatory arenas nationwide.

The past year presented a number of challenges for perioperative nurses and their healthcare colleagues. Many events of the past year also shed light on how health care delivery needs to be more equitable across the country, and AORN is committed to eliminating all disparities within current models of care. At this critical juncture, the AORN board revisited key policy objectives from the past and prioritized policy actions to achieve a broader set of goals for perioperative nurses and our patients.
