Last year, Dio Sumagaysay, MSN, RN, showed us how AI-driven predictive analytics and machine learning provided him with a trusted data source. The metrics he identified and shared with his frontline stakeholders helped them see how to streamline workflows and improve overall efficiencies in his 53 ORs across four sites within the Oregon Health & Science University system where he serves as VP of Perioperative and Multi-Specialty Procedures.

Shifting his purview to executive stakeholders, Sumagaysay is leveraging his metrics to refine his business case in securing capital expenditures. And he's walking perioperative leaders through his process at in-person AORN Accelerate Perioperative Leadership Workshops this fall.
