Emily Jones, MSN, RN, CNOR, NPD-BC
Sr. Perioperative Practice Specialist
Emily Jones is an AORN Senior Perioperative Practice Specialist with over 20 years of clinical experience in perioperative nursing. She authored the revisions to the AORN guideline for surgical smoke safety and the AORN guideline for prevention of venous thromboembolism. Emily is a contributing editor for the clinical issues column in the peer reviewed AORN Journal. She is an expert on a variety of perioperative clinical topics including surgical smoke safety. During her perioperative clinical experience, Emily served in the roles of staff nurse, mentor, educator, charge nurse, and manager at a level one trauma center. She has established expertise in many subject areas including team communication, perioperative crisis simulation education, and surgical staff & patient safety.
