Munro has been a perioperative nurse for over 26 years and is a practice expert with emphasis on pressure injury prevention. She is a Nurse Scientist at Stanford Health Care, CA. She also received the 2023 AORN Excellence in Periop Nursing Award.

David A. Wyatt

Wyatt served as AORN President, 2020-2021. He led the Board of Directors & staff to respond to the COVID19 pandemic & initiated the Comprehensive DEI plan. In 2015 he received the AORN Award for Excellence in Perioperative Nursing.

Fencl is known for translating evidence into clinical practice through research and QI projects. She adds to the body of perioperative nursing knowledge through dissemination. She has published and presented perioperative nursing topics globally.

Applegeet's passion for perioperative nursing & AORN is demonstrated through her leadership, lectures, & advocacy. She led advancements for AORN initiatives including certification, Syntegrity, ambulatory surgery and Perioperative Surgical Home.

Joy Don Baker

PhD, RN-BC, CNOR, CNE, NEA-BC, FAORN, FAAN

Baker's contributions stem from the development of PNDS nomenclature recognized by ANA & SNOMED. She served as AORN Journal Editor-in-Chief & is a national & international speaker. She co-authored the award-winning book A, B, &Cs of Author Partnering.

Terri Goodman

PhD, RN, CNOR, FAORN

Goodman was instrumental in the transition to electronic communication for both chapters and National AORN. In 2002, she created the first chapter website so leaders of the newly formed eChapter could communicate, and an email database to engage members.

Schroeter is known for her research for perioperative nursing ethics and certification. She co-authored ANA’s Code of Ethics, the AORN Perioperative Explications of the Code, and serves on ANA’s Ethics Expert Panel.

Patricia C. Seifert (Deceased)

MSN, RN, CNOR, CRNFA(E), FAORN, FAAN

The bedrock of Trish’s lifework was cardiac surgery. As a clinician/RNFA, manager, and educator she recognized the needs of patients, nurses, and surgeons. Her expertise and dedication were proven through numerous publications, lectures, and mentorships.

Steelman has dedicated her career to promoting excellent patient care through evidence-based practice (EBP) and has published extensively on this work. Her research focuses on perioperative patient safety. She is Past-President of AORN.
