AORN to Honor Perioperative Community at Awards Ceremony

In perioperative nursing, we are very fortunate to have extraordinary colleagues who, through innovation and exemplary leadership, work to increase patient and staff safety, advance the profession and add value to their teams.

AORN is pleased to provide a way to recognize outstanding individuals through a variety of awards each year. Nominations for the 2022 Individual Awards will open on August 17 and close on December 17. Please see the list of award categories below.

An additional award, the AORN Excellence in Perioperative Nursing Award, is the highest honor bestowed by AORN, recognizing an individual whose work and accomplishments have had global implications in perioperative nursing practice, education, and research. Nominations for the Award for Excellence will be open from August 17 to November 17. 

“Our awards signify excellence — going far beyond the call of duty, doing more than others expect. It comes from striving, maintaining the highest standards, looking after the smallest detail, and going the extra mile,” says Elizabeth Rackers, RN, BSN, CNOR, Chair of the 2021-2022 AORN Awards Committee.

“By nominating individuals for these prestigious awards, you enable them to be recognized for excellent performance in their profession, says Rackers.”
