AORN Supports Your CNOR Recertification

The CNOR® credential and recertification program are administered by the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI). AORN supports certification maintenance through educational resources and opportunities to earn recertification points.

AORN is an approved accredited provider of points/contact hours required by CCI* for your CNOR recertification and offers various ways you can earn these points.

AORN’s trusted perioperative education and resources help keep you current on evidence-based practice and improve safe patient care. Refer to the current CNOR® Candidate Handbook available through CCI for complete recertification requirements and point categories.

Exclusively for AORN members, this online course features 600+ practice questions, test-taking strategies, a detailed study guide, and guideline-based assessments. Earn 18 contact hours and gain six months of access to eGuidelines Plus to confidently prepare for the CNOR exam.

AORN Recertification Resources

AORN members can access more than 200 complimentary CNE CHs through AORN Journal CNE articles, AORN webinars, AORN Expo posters, and select courses. Unlimited points (contact hours) may be earned from Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) credits. 60% of contact hours reports as NCPD must be perioperative related. AORN is always looking for new authors to contribute to the AORN Journal. Provides an outlet to improve patient care, educate your colleagues, and continue your professional and personal growth. Unlimited points may be earned in the Publishing category. Do you have a passion for safe surgery and valuable insights to share with the perioperative community? Present either a podium presentation or poster at AORN Global Surgical Conference & Expo. Unlimited points may be earned in the Professional Presentations category. A presentation may be repeated if presented to another audience. The presentation must be on a healthcare-related topic. Deepen your commitment to the perioperative profession by volunteering for an AORN task force or committee. Unlimited points may be earned in the Service as a Board or Committee Member category. AORN is a collaborative partner of CCI, which includes AORN educational webinars. Unlimited points can be earned for coursework-related activities from CCI. These activities are available in the “Professional Organization Activities” section of the CCI store CCI | Competency & Credentialing Institute.
