This document provides guidance to perioperative teams about Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), which is an interdisciplinary approach to surgical care that aims to optimize patient outcomes and accelerate recovery following surgery. It involves the implementation of evidence-based protocols and guidelines to enhance the patient's physiological and psychological condition before, during, and after surgery. ERAS protocols aim to minimize the physiological stress response to surgery.
