Autorenewal ensures your membership stays active without interruption, so you continue to receive all your member benefits. It also eliminates the need to manually renew each year while giving you the flexibility to cancel auto-renewal any time before your next renewal.
Autorenewal is available for Standard (including International) and Leader memberships.
Autorenewal for eligible memberships begins September 1, 2026.
Your current multi-year membership will remain active through its expiration date. No changes will be made to your membership until it is time to renew. At that point, you'll renew into a standard annual membership and will be enrolled in autorenewal by default unless you choose to opt out.
No. Beginning September 1, 2026, multi-year memberships will no longer be offered. Eligible memberships will be renewed annually through autorenewal.
Yes. We'll send you a reminder email with the exact fees and charge at least 30 days before your annual membership renewal, so you'll know when your membership is scheduled to be renewed. You will be able to update your payment method or manage your auto-renewal preferences if needed.
We'll communicate important membership updates through email and announcements on the AORN website.
Yes. If your current membership is not enrolled in autorenewal, you can renew at any time and select a different eligible membership type during the renewal process.
If you are currently enrolled in autorenewal, you must first cancel your scheduled payment by visiting the "My Scheduled Payments" tab. Once your scheduled payment has been successfully canceled, you can select a different eligible membership type when you renew.
Renewing before your current membership expires will extend your membership end date. You will not lose any remaining time on your current membership term.
Canceling your scheduled payment does not cancel your current membership. Your membership will remain active through its current expiration date.

Yes. You can cancel your membership subscription or change your payment method from the My Scheduled Payments page at any point. You may turn off autorenewal at any time while your membership is active. Canceling autorenewal simply prevents future automatic renewals—your current membership remains active through its expiration date.
To avoid being charged, cancel by 11:59 p.m. MT on the last day of the month before your renewal month. After that deadline, your renewal payment will be processed on or after the first business day of your renewal month. For example, if your membership renews on September 1, you have until 11:59 p.m. MT on August 31 to opt out.

You can update your payment method from the My Scheduled Payments page at any time.
If your payment isn't successful, we'll automatically retry your payment up to five times. You may see several pending charges during this retry period. We'll notify you if your payment continues to fail and give you until the end of your renewal month to update your payment information before your membership lapses.
If you renew by phone using a credit card, your membership will be enrolled in autorenewal by default. Our Experience Services team will obtain your authorization to securely store your payment method.
Your membership will automatically renew using your saved payment method at the beginning of your renewal month. If your payment cannot be processed, we'll make additional attempts and notify you if your payment information needs to be updated.
Your membership will renew at the current membership rate in effect at the time of renewal. If membership dues change in the future, we'll communicate those changes before your renewal.
If you request a cancellation during the same calendar month your membership renews, you'll receive a full refund, and your membership will be canceled. Refund requests made after the renewal month are not eligible for a refund, although you may still cancel future autorenewals.
