Updates to Your Learning Experience

New Periop 101 Program Package

In case you missed it, exciting features were added to the program package in March to enhance ongoing development of your novice RNs beyond onboarding and provide continuing education for your more experienced RNs. Expanded complimentary memberships are also included, to support learners and administrators throughout the new 3-year facility agreement. These enhancements are available to renewing and new customers. >>View Program Package Details

Various updates will be made across all three learning plans to align with the revised Guideline for Pneumatic Tourniquet Safety. Additionally, the Administrator Course will reflect the latest CineMed video titles. >>See All June Updates

Preparing the Preceptor Updates

Also in June, AORN is rolling out the following improvements for Preparing the Preceptor:

  • The addition of a new resource: The Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) Preceptor Assessment Tool (PAT) Repository. ANPD’s PAT Repository was developed from their list of evidence-based competencies and is the only nationally tested preceptor assessment tool. It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and can be used by preceptors for self-evaluation, individuals precepted (preceptees), and entities responsible for preceptor oversight to comprehensively assess a preceptor’s performance. The PAT can be used to meet accreditation criteria for transition-to-practice programs.
  • The Learner module will be offering an updated DEI and Generational Learning Styles video.
  • The Feedback module will include new content discussing multiple preceptors during the orientation experience.

Changes to the AORN Learning Center

You may have already noticed improved user experience within AORN's Learning Center. On May 22, AORN launched a refreshed, modern user interface for our education platform - designed with you in mind. If you have not yet experienced these changes, here's what to expect:

  • A cleaner, more intuitive design that makes it easier to find and complete courses
  • Mobile-friendly navigation so you can learn anytime, anywhere
  • Faster support through new self-service tools
  • Increased security and stability behind the scenes
